The scooter comes completely assembled, The only thing you have to do is plug in the battery cables. The batteries are included in the price. It is a top quality scooter and I am very happy with the way it performs and would recomend it to anyone that needs a scooter.
The 2 things that I like most are the dynamic brakes and the speed control. Shipping was fast and I was quite satisfied.

Arrived in good packaging, was operational in a few minutes with minimal assembly required. So far it is working great.

I know it sounds corny but I wouldn’t have much of a life without my scooter. I don’t own this exact model – mine is an earlier model that look almost just like this one and it has held up remarkably well.

Well I received my Shoprider Sunrunner 4 in record time, far ahead of the date predicted. I was exceptionally well packaged with its own wooden pallet bound to the shipping carton.
I was home alone and wanted to see it so bad I unwrapped it with great difficulty (I’m pretty crippled, completely blind in one eye and partially blind in the other). I plugged in the charger but the red blinking light showed something wrong with the circuit. Being somewhat mechanically inclined (retired physics teacher) I presumed that something was not connected. There were no instructions at all on how to take care of this so I tried to remove the plastic shroud over the battery and motor (yes all the pretty shapes of the vehicle are plastic – quite heavy plastic that seems durable).
However I realized that to remove the shroud, the seat must be removed. No instructions on this except a small drawing about arranging the seat at a 45 degree angle to the steering column. So I tried this and attempted to pull the seat upward. This is not easy especially for a crippled person. I pulled so hard that when it finally released both the seat and I tumbled onto the floor. However there was so much cardboard and foam wrap all over the place I was not hurt. If I had a video I would put it on YouTube.
Unfortunately the plastic shroud could not be removed without removing the seat post. I found another tiny drawing which gave me the idea on how to remove the seat post and eventually remove the shroud.
Once the batteries and motor were exposed I could see that the positive and negative cables were disengaged. I connected them and the charger began operating. (If asked I would be glad to write instructions for the initial setup of this machine so that the next person could do it with a little less difficulty.)
So now my little roadster is charged and reassembled. It works!! I ran into the kitchen table but didn’t hurt anything. It has been raining since I received it so I have not been able to test it out in the real world. I am wearing the rug out riding around the house.
I was wishing for a scooter that went faster than 5 mph but I now believe that this one actually does a little better that 5 mph. Maybe it is because I don’t weigh 300 pounds. All I know is it really cranks up across our living room. I nearly landed in the fireplace a couple of times.
I have given it 4 stars because of the lack of clear instructions and the lack of long term experience with the performance of the scooter. So far it seems to have good potential. I will update my recommendations when I know more.
